"June has a learning disability and lives with her parents and brother at home. She has attended several college courses and obtained certificates in dance anddrama, food hygiene and general studies. June enjoys shopping and keeping up to date with fashion. Her hobbies are walking and music, she also enjoys bowling and bingo. June had this to say: “I like to help around the home and go shopping with mymum who needs a wheelchair to get out and about. “The staff who support me are great and have a good sense of humour which I love! I have given them all nicknames which I find funny. They have helped me to get on college courses and recently arranged a“reading buddy” to help me with my reading and writing. The staff have also helped me with health action training. I feel a lot more confident and I am happy”
Eleanor is retired and lives in her own home she was diagnosed with a mental health illness a few years ago, she got the help she needed from a team of professionals. Eleanor was struggling with some of her daily living tasks, including bathing and attending appointments. She wanted to maintain her independence so asked if we could help. Eleanor had this to say: “Wirral Flexicare has made such a difference to my life I feel back in control. My support worker Donna is very caring and is helping me to regain my confidence, I now feel a lot more organised within my home and I am able to attend appointments when I need to. The help and support has also improved the way I look and feel about myself”.
